hi Eric

think that many others view but are not leaving comments - this is typical on the hat 1/32nd blog

hey great figures -like the guardsmen - they look like ACW conversions?

Dave

I am still here, Eric! And your work is still the best!

Hi both, thanks for the comments.

The Guards are mostly ACW with a few CTS Mexicans and some AIP French.

I just found this blog a few months back now and I have also been checking it out, looking in to see whats new and I,m really enjoying your work. I also like to tinker on converting figures and know what kinda work goes into doing these kind of more complex conversions and I admire the skill you have at converting figures.
Keep them coming, like Dave said most guys just look in but don,t comment. I post stuff over on the Hat blog and don,t get much feedback either and half of that is negative when they do! At least the little feedback they leave you is all positive. L.O.L.

we should start an International Plastic soldier Converters club to swap ideas etc...
one of my current projects (for a customer in Germany) is a 1/32nd Dutch Artillery crew Waterloo - using the 'Helmet' Dutch infantry head/shako pinned onto the AIP British artillery set with a double trailer gun. It is not far off completion.

Dave

Guys,

Thanks for posting. I'm liking the idea of keeping in touch on what we are up to, we can use this blog as a vehicle and I can post every two weeks and you could send pictures? Also one of my customers has suggested a sort of swap club where we can exchange those unwanted figures that might be exactly what someone else needs, seems like another good idea?

hi Eric
I want to have a crack at converting the Guardsmen - are they Deetail bearskins and what did you use to fashion the epaulettes? plus any other tips
regards
Dave

Eric1 said...

Hi Dave, yes the heads are from Deetail figures, the epaulettes and all the other additions are from greenstuff. I used some of the canteen/haversack bits from HELMET spares, otherwise it's just a matter of selecting suitable figures. Oh yes adding the coat tails was a bit of a pain, I found thin greenstuff pressed into the back if the man and laid against a wet thumb nail and cut to shape. E
